After running the experiment of sketching every day for one year in 2017 (you can read about it here) I take visual notes almost on a daily basis as a way to process pieces of conversations, observations, impressions and feelings. These rough sketches, which combine words with drawings, sometimes turn into a comic or illustration – whether that is independent or commissioned.
In my 10 years of professional journey as a service designer and strategist I have been honing the practice of understanding complex, abstract information and turning it into visuals that capture its essence and tell a story. Whether that’s a journey map, a data-inspired story or a chart, I use a variety of visual languages to convey a message. Sometimes, with a dash of humour.
When my thoughts can’t fit into one frame, I articulate them into a series or a longer reflection. From this starting point, I write and illustrate bite-sized short stories, which then become a zine or a small book.
In 2023 I have had the pleasure to be invited and shortlisted for a couple of group exhibitions which gave me the space to show some of my works to new audiences.
